2010 National Jamboree

0

The Central Florida Council is excited to announce there are still spots open for the 2010 National Jamboree. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for boys to experience Scouting’s greatest event.  Here is your big chance to be part of Boy Scouts of America history! Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the BSA with 43,000 Scouts and Scouters from across the United States and around the world. Fort A. P. Hill, near Fredericksburg, VA, hosts the largest gathering of Boy Scouts in the United States and you can be there, too! Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Think the 2010 National Scout Jamboree is the place for you? We are sending 7 troops – each with 36 youth members and 4 adult leaders – to represent Central Florida Council at this once in a lifetime event and we want you to be part of it!

Dream it. See it. Experience it.

What would you like to try at the Jamboree? How about these activities:

  • Mountain boarding
  • Try on a Space suit
  • Fly virtual jets or drive virtual tanks
  • Experience other simulators
  • Dirt biking
  • Geocaching for treasures
  • Climb and rappel the largest obstacle course you’ve ever seen
  • Zip lines
  • Catch and eat fish
  • Water sports
  • Trade patches
  • Scuba Dive

Interested? Well there’s more! Lots more! More than you can possibly do in 10 days at the 2010 Jamboree.

How about looking through the fantastic exhibits, seeing great shows, touching live animals, gazing at fireworks and maybe, just maybe shaking hands with the President of the United States! Wow!

Stop by and see Pedro from Boys’ Life Magazine. Meet one of the astronauts at the NASA exhibit. Experience our Native American dancers or our Hawaiian friends. Become a Hometown News Reporter for us back home. The fun and opportunities are endless at the National Jamboree

    Notable Qoutables

The Boy Scouts of America stands for a set of principles. These principles have a lot of staying power. The values you learn as a Scout are like a compass. They can help you find your way through difficult and sometimes unchartered terrain. The principles of Scouting give you a sense of what’s important. I feel I owe the Boy Scouts a great deal, both personally and professionally. — Bill Bradley, former U.S. Senator, New Jersey
