Boy Scout Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training

Did you miss the last IOLS class for 2009? Now is the time to look at the 2010 schedule and sign up for the training you need so your son and his friends have a great troop program! Some of the classes listed below have minimum registration requirements and/or registration deadlines. Don’t chance that the class you want to attend will be cancelled – sign up TODAY for the class you want to attend!

 

If you are currently a Webelos parent who will want to become active with your son’s new troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster this spring, please sign up for this training along with the Scoutmaster Position Specific training so you will Be Prepared to assist your new troop.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The IOLS experience is training for Scoutmasters and Assistants that is required in order for you to be considered fully trained for your position. Not only will you learn those outdoor skills that you need to help your scouts reach First Class from knots and lashing to orienteering to fire building and cooking but you’ll also learn how to TEACH those skills to your scouts. This is a FUN weekend where you’ll get to live like a scout and practice the Patrol method.

 

Leaders are encouraged to take training in any district so if the date for your district’s training is not convenient for you or none is scheduled in your district, pick any convenient date – just be sure to register.

 

Please remember, prior registration is required for all training events in order to give the training staff adequate time to prepare for handouts, equipment and food for the course. Contact information for both registration and questions are listed for each District offering IOLS.
