Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders Training

0

Are you working towards your Webelos Den Leader Award?

Get the training you need to have a great Webelos Den campout AND complete one of the requirements for this knot.

There is only ONE more training opportunity available before June!

The spring camping season is in full force and our Webelos Dens really want to go camping as a den. All Webelos leaders need to attend the Outdoor Leader Skills training so you will be able to guide your den to a fantastic outdoor experience. BEAR DEN LEADERS are also encouraged to attend the spring OLS-WL so that you are ready for your scouts to become Webelos in June.

There are lots of differences between what you can do as a Webelos Den and what can be done at the Pack level – attend OLS-WL to learn the ropes. Please don’t wait to register – courses have class size limits and will fill up quickly. Most districts also have minimum class size requirements in order to keep the class from being cancelled. Remember – All training is open to leaders from all districts but YOU MUST REGISTER TO ATTEND ANY TRAINING.

Known by many different names from WOLT to OWL to WLOT to the official title “Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders” – this is the training for all Webelos Den Leaders that will help you learn the outdoor skills you need to help your Webelos Den campouts be successful and lots of FUN for your son and his friends as they prepare to become Boy Scouts. If you are working towards your Webelos Leader Award, this training is required.

Please remember, prior registration is required for all training events in order to give the training staff adequate time to prepare for handouts, craft materials and food for the course. Contact information for both registration and questions are listed below. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL WITH QUESTIONS OR TO REGISTER – register or ask questions using the information above for the specific district whose training you want to attend.

Please remember too that a scout is Courteous: If you register for one of the training sessions above and then find that you will not be able to attend, please be courteous and cancel your reservation. Many districts have class size limits so by removing yourself from the participant list, you will open your slot for someone who might be on a waiting list and could fill your seat.

    Notable Qoutables

I think the character that you learn in Scouting—working together, being honest with each other, being close knit … and depending on one another, on our camping trips and doing things—all these things build character in a young man that he takes with him into adulthood and makes him a much better citizen. And that’s why Scouting to me has always been an organization I’ve always wanted to help. I think it’s one of the best youth organizations that we … have in this country. — James A.
